NCAA Football 2013: Kitch's Beast Of The Week - Week One

Week One's Beast of the Week

It was a big weekend to start the 2013 season, with some impressive performances, but none, in my mind, come close to the game of Vernon Adams, the Eastern Washington Eagle's starting quarterback, whose clutch play proved the difference and allowed EWU to become the first FCS school to beat a ranked FBS school (out of the Big Sky conference, and Cheney, Washington) since 2010. That day, Virginia Tech lost to James Madison. On this day, Eastern Washington beat Oregon State 49-46 in an incredible game of back-and-forth football.

Adams was so good on Saturday that no one even remotely associated with the Corvallis-based program will ever forget him. How's this for a big game player? Passing: 23-30 for 411 yards and 4 TDs. Rushing: 107 yards and 2 TDs on 16 carries.

Definitely worthy of Kitch's (Week One) Beast of the Week!
